“I’m fine.” She curled and uncurled her fists as a smug
smile dragged across her lips. “Showed that fucker what’s
up. Shoulda seen his mug.” Tiff adjusted the strap connected
to her purse and continued down the street, slowing her pace
to allow for him to catch up. “C’mon, Sammie. Let’s get somethin’
tah eat. I’m fuckin’ starvin’ over here.”

    ‘ i kinda don’t want to, ‘ he quips. tiffany, even though she is
     his friend, is someone sam wouldn’t ever want to cross. she
     has it in her to fight, even beat the shit out of someone else
     who’s done her wrong; sam can’t necessarily relate in that
     way. 

     he catches up to her, now trying to keep his pace. a restaurant.
     some place to eat. sam’s eyes dart around the signs that
     named a few restaurants, but what could be open at this time?

        he follows her, glancing both ways in case headlights were
